Just have a few questions as i cant get started, I am coming to Pakistan so want to sort this before i come.

1. The maps found in PKmaps Free GPS Map of Pakistan (ver2.0 29 Oct 2009) , are they the same as the ones available in the other maps stickied in this forum ?

2. How do you install the maps in a Win mobile 6.1 device ? Its a Samsung Omnia i900

I installed the PKmaps Free GPS Map of Pakistan amd it installs onto my laptop, what do i do with all the files over there ? My Garmin is installed in My Storage/Garmin and looks like this:[url][/url]

Which folders do the maps go in ?

The PKmaps Free GPS Map of Pakistan (ver2.0 29 Oct 2009) is a consolidated map containing all maps available at this forum.

You need to copy the gmapsupp.img file to your My Storage\Garmin folder.

If you have an existing map (gmapsupp.img) then its best you make a copy of it.

You only need to copy the GMAPSUPP.IMG file to your GPS.

may i ask what the purpose of the whole installer and all those files are ? why not just zip the GMAPSUPP.IMG file and provide that ???

The installer contains all the files required by Garmin Mapsource and a final gmapsupp.img file.

Garmin Mapsource is a product that can be installed on your computer and allows you to view and search the map on your PC.

We often have users who want a MapSource version for their computer as well as a final gmapsup.img file for their GPS. So we bundle it together in one installer.

Can we add atopographical map to this gmapsupp.img file, for people that want to use it off road.
or how we can use the off road option:)
